Introduced in 1996, POPX continues to dominate the high-end top-water bait markets of both Japan and the United States. Equipped with MEGABASS original SIDE-STEPPING BALANCER (PAT), POPX walks a rolling dog-walk unlike any other poppers, and the WATER DUCTS (PAT) which imitate the bubbly water coming out of fish gills and help create a natural "bio-sound", not an ordinary popping sound. MEGABASS POPX also spits, not splashes, quite a distance. "GG" stands for GUANIUM GHOST, the most shad-like finish, "PM" PEARL MICA (including SG CRACK finish) and "GP" GUANIUM PHANTOM (including GP CRACK finish), a see through phantom finish.

ITO Vision Q-GO lure is a little less than 4 inch long minnow for shallow water. But this is not an ordinary minnow at all. Swimming action of this lure is controlled by a completely new balancer system called SHAFT BALANCER SYSTEM (PAT.P). Instead of a moving, therefore necessarily round balancer, the one which is used inside Q-GO’s body is a shaft shape and fixed at the lowest point along the body. The result is an astoundingly new action. Since the shaft weight acts as a sort of a reverse pendulum, the whole body swings with the shaft as a fulcrum. And unlike a moving balancer, the shaft balancer does not require guiding structures, so it frees up the space inside the lure. This allows us to give Q-GO a very high buoyancy and very responsive actions. That is why Q-GO does not choose retrieving speed. Whether you rip it as fast as you can or retrieve it as slowly as you would like to, Q-GO will not give up swimming.

When you look back the past 10 plus years, this top-water bait line up began with the dog-walking baits such as DOG-X lure. Then, POP-X joined the line up in 1996 and then SLIDE-SINKER, POP-MAX, PROP-DARTER, ZERO and TYPE-X lures. Each one of them has a distinct action capability which did not exist in the market until they were introduced by Megabass. It seems that with the introduction of TYPE-X lure the top-water fishing has elevated itself to another level. There are so many things you can do with these lures, it is now conceivable for some one to fish nothing but top-water most of the season. TYPE-X is designed for spot fishing by being able to stay in a small area longer than most other baits.
